VISION

Our vision is to assist the youth and women across the Himalayan rural areas in acquiring skills that help them in gaining self-employment.

MISSION

We are on a mission to provide skill development training to youth and women across rural areas to improve their socio-economic status.

ABOUT US

Founded in the year 2020, Samoon Skills is a unit of Samoon Foundation, a non-profit organisation that is continuously working towards the welfare of society. Whether it’s about enhancing the education facility, women empowerment, promoting social awareness and community development, raising environmental awareness, or food assistance for the weaker section of the society, Samoon Foundation has been consistently working on all these programs just with a motive to see a better world where everyone gets the basic rights of their life.

Samoon Skills was one of the dream projects of the founding members who wanted to see the countryfolks, especially the ones who are residing in the remote areas, to learn and earn or become self-employed for their living. Under this project, the organisation strives for the growth and development of all such communities through proactive steps in the form of various skills centric programs. Samoon Skills primarily focuses on the enhancement of learnings, skills development, women empowerment, local arts and crafts production training programs and socio-economic development to transform the rural lifestyle. So basically, the organisation is dedicated to educating and training the unskilled group of people so that they become skilled and self-dependent.

CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

A skill is someone’s capability to do something that comes from learning, training and practising. It is an essential part of one’s life as it decides how a person can shape his or her life with mastery in a particular domain. In urban areas, people get a lot of opportunities to learn something new and upgrade their skills. It is so because there are a plentiful number of mediums through which a person can learn something he or she is interested in. The handy facilities, easy approachability and convenient access to technology help the people residing in urban areas learn and earn for their well-being.

But those living in the rural areas, where even getting the basic necessities of life is a bit challenging, for them learning a new skill is still like a dream today. We, at Samoon Skills, work in these areas so that we can help the needy to fulfil their dreams and live a better life. Many villagers in the Himalayas either don’t have enough knowledge, or skill to earn an income. And, if they have some, they don’t get sufficient resources and opportunities to use their expertise and make a decent living.
